A zoo in the OC

We took a trip up to the Orange County zoo today to get out of the house before all the rain starts.  It was better than we ever expected.  The zoo’s focus is on animals and plants that are native to Southern California.  For any of you that don’t know it’s located in the Irvine Regional Park.  Emmarie got to see coyotes, bobcats, mule deer, brown bears, and even mountain lions up close.  It was a lot of fun seeing her point everything out to us.  She was even excited to see all the birds, especially the bald eagle.

After a good look at everything in the zoo, we walked over to the pond and checked out the ducks, they were a little bummed when they realized we were just there for a look and not to feed them.

The ponies on the other hand loved the Misses.  They were quite curious, and came right up to the fence to check us out.

We took a look at the train, and thought about a train ride, but decided to head back to the zoo, and feed the goats one last time.

All in all a good weekend.  Hope everyone had as much fun as we did…Bye for now!

  1. Grandma Karen says:

Emmarie is the cutest little girl in the world. Her joy for life is infectious.
Her laughter is contagious. She is curious about the world and everything in it.
